ELS are very excited to announce another new partnership for 2008 beginning with the September 15 2008 session. ELS will be opening a new center on the campus of the University of New Haven (NHU), in West Haven, Connecticut. UNH offers both an outstanding location (just 10 minutes from the beach) and many attractive degree programs. ELS students will have access to all UNH facilities. Happily this is a return for ELS to the University of New Haven, where ELS enjoyed a very positive and cooperative relationship in the past. ELS/New Haven will offer our Intensive English, Semi-Intensive English and American Explorer Programs. This location will follow the "A" schedule, opening September 15, 2008.
University Location: UNH's location is only ten minutes from the West Haven shoreline of Sandy Point, a long stretch of sandy beach, and picturesque Bradley Point Park. The cities of New Haven and West Haven are adjacent cities, with historic New Haven being the home of prestigious Yale University. New Haven Green is the site of many free music concerts and the New Haven Jazz Festival in August. The city is home to a large cycling community, as well as numerous theatres and production houses and New Haven Harbor. New York City is only two hours travel by train, and New Haven is connected to NYC by both intercity and commuter rails. University Profile:
UNH is a private comprehensive university with a fulltime undergraduate enrollment of 2,300 students pursuing degrees in over 70 different undergraduate majors. Its programs are unique. A Music and Sound Recording program and a Global Studies major are included within the College of Arts and Sciences. The College of Business includes the Management of Sports Industries programs, one of only a few such programs in North America found within a university business school. The Tagliatela College of Engineering consists of eleven distinct majors and is accredited by ABET. Another unique program included in the College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences is the four-year Fire Science program, offering students a subspecialty in Fire/Arson Investigation. Also, the Fire Protection Engineering concentration is one of two nationally renowned programs.
