ELS are very pleased to announce that beginning with the February 4, 2008 session, ELS will be opening a new center on the campus of California Lutheran University (CLU), in Thousand Oaks, California. CLU is an ideal host institution for ELS students, offering a wide range of excellent facilities for student use, attractive degree options, and an ideal location close to Los Angeles but in one of the safest cities in America. The ELS/Thousand Oaks Center will offer our most popular English programs (Intensive English, Semi-Intensive English and American Explorer Programs).  This location will follow the “A” schedule.

CLU has en enrollment of 3,300 undergraduate and graduate students. The university is very well ranked, having recently been listed for the 18th consecutive year, among the top tier of US News and World Report’s “Masters Universities of the West”. CLU offers a wide range of attractive degree programs including Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business, Accounting, Bioengineering, Art, and Economics. CLU’s 1-year International MBA program, and Master of Science in Computer Science are particularly attractive to international students. CLU will accept completion of ELS level 112 in place of their TOEFL requirement of 550PBT/213CBT/79IBT, and will offer conditional letters of admission to qualified ELS students for all of their degree programs.

ELS/Thousand Oaks is located on the beautiful 90 hectare CLU campus. ELS students are granted access to all of CLU’s modern campus facilities on the same basis as CLU students. These facilities feature a state of the art recreation center, advanced computer labs, student services center, library and school chapel. Hiking trails leading to the Santa Monica Mountain National Recreation Area are adjacent to the campus.

Thousand Oaks is a city of 127,000, and is ranked by the FBI as one of the top 5 safest cities of its size in the United States, The city offers an ideal setting for international students to learn English, while experiencing the many attractions of Southern California.
